The Way Things Change

“In my series “The Way Things Change” I wanted colour and paint to function on their own, have no set rules or boundaries, and be neither easily interpretable nor excessively technical. Crucial for me was to  let the painting define its own sense of time and space. Precisely for this reason, I decided to experiment with my paintings. I applied paint onto a canvas and ran it over with a taping knife rather than with a brush in order to minimise my interventions in the process. I let the paint flow wherever. I let it mix with other colours. the outcome is an abstract painting covered with numerous intertwining layers of paint.”
