Hitting the Optic Nerve

"Inspired by old engravings, I created several works composed of floating and whirling lines drawn with a black inkpen. the visual commotion resulting from entangling the lines brings to mind something organic, an ambiguous mass of muscle- or hair-like shapes, drawing the viewer to look at the composition attentively and discern particular elements. It is at this very moment that some of them stare back."
